The Preferred Physicians Program™ was launched in October 2004 as a innovative method for physicians to provide healthcare to their patients. The program provides an opportunity for physicians to care for fewer patients in a more thorough and comprehensive manner. It also affords patients the reassurance of knowing that their personal physician is easily accessible, and has devoted time to care for them in the office, hospital, or even at the patients' home, when necessary.
The Preferred Physicians Program™ is not a health insurance plan or healthcare service organization. The program is not contracted with private health insurance companies and does not participate in Medicare. Healthcare services provided by physicians in the Preferred Physicians Program™ do not replace the patient's need for health insurance. Rather, the program is an agreement directly between physician and patient to provide healthcare within the specialties of internal medicine and pediatrics in a manner that is otherwise not covered by health insurance plans.
